Why Cover Bread Dough

Noted? My books in February - part 1

Two books for the heart ...

"Homer & Langley" by EL Doctorow. This based on historical novel about the events of America's most famous Messies attracts me to a bizarre account of the situation: A New York Villa, crammed with over 100 tons of waste, consisting of newspapers, dishes, weapons, furniture. And in the midst of the rich patrician sons Homer and Langley, fleeing from civilization. faz.net my attention was drawn to another aspect:

The Collyer brothers real were in the 30s of last century to involuntary actors in a media scandal provoked. With Doctorow's novel takes corrective action after 80 years in public perception and saves " two figures of the urban legends from the area of pathology in the world of art and culture." Daniel Haas writes beautifully about Doctorow's last trick in a rather old article on faz.net , which is appropriate to the initial fine and contains a lot of background information.

"Mina" by David Almond. with this wonderful well-designed book, I could not possibly pass. Just before I put the cash "Mina" but then nostalgia, because after the "Dahlia" fiasco I had passed a resolution: "No more impulse buying". 1-0 for the reason. Minas little voice haunted me all the way home, where they ordered me to the computer and look for a Sample left. In view of these passages as I was last on the spot:

" words should move and squirm, you should fly like owls. and should like fluttering bats, creeping like cats. They should scream and mumble and dance and sing.
Sometimes no words at all should be there.
Only silence.
only white space. "
